Tabără gratuită pentru copiii și tinerii români de pretutindeni, aventură montană, tradiții autentice și limba română, în inima Munților Vâlcan.
In 2026, the Straja mountain resort hosts one of the ARC Camps – the government camp program dedicated to Romanian children and young people everywhere. It is a completely freecamp, organized as part of the "ARC" 2026 Program of the Department for Romanians Everywhere (DPRP), and for us it is the first edition of our collaboration with this program.
Vin copii și tineri români din afara granițelor, iar tabăra se ține în întregime în limba română. Stăm în Munții Vâlcan, la Straja, și programul e făcut ca ei să vorbească românește toată ziua, nu doar la ore.

The "ARC" ("Home in Romania") Program is a government program coordinated by the Department for Romanians Everywhere, an institution within the Government of Romania. The program's stated aim is to give Romanian children, pupils, students and young people from the diaspora and the historic communities the chance to discover Romania, to deepen their knowledge of the Romanian language and to come into contact with Romanian cultural and identity values.
The 2026 edition is the 17th edition of the program and offers, at national level, around 9,000 free places, in 8 locations across Romania, in the period 30 June – 1 September 2026. The entire program – accommodation, meals and the educational, cultural, artistic, sporting and recreational activities – is supported by the Romanian state. For Tabere Straja, this edition marks the first collaboration with the ARC Program.
At Straja, the program combines adventure in the heart of nature with the discovery of authentic Romanian traditions and with workshops that encourage communication in Romanian and team spirit. Among the experiences the participants have:
In addition to the activities in the resort, the children go on trips to some of the most beautiful attractions in the area:
Copiii sunt însoțiți permanent de instructori, profesori, animatori și coordonatori. E aceeași echipă care ține taberele de vară și de iarnă de la Straja.
The ARC Camps are aimed at Romanian children and young people from outside Romania's borders – from the diaspora and the historic communities, with the status of "Romanians everywhere" – who have a knowledge of Romanian that allows them to communicate and take part in activities. In line with the "ARC" program, it is aimed at Romanian children, pupils, students and young people everywhere, and the enrollment application is also open to young people who wish to take part as volunteers.
Accommodation is at The Dor de Munte Guesthouse and at neighboring guesthouses, all located in the center of the Straja mountain resort. The conditions are good, in a safe, friendly environment suited to groups of children and young people. As part of the ARC program, accommodation and meals are provided free of charge.
Participation in the ARC 2026 Camps is completely free, being supported by the Romanian state. Straja merely hosts the camp – enrollment is done exclusively on the official platform of the Department for Romanians Everywhere, during the window of 12-26 June 2026. We do not use a form of our own on the site for this camp.
The enrollment procedure is carried out through the diplomatic missions (embassies and consulates), educational institutions, Romanian organizations and associations abroad, as well as through places of worship. The specific sessions and dates of the Straja camp will be announced later.
