Out of love for the mountains and for children, out of a desire to do something original, with the experience of countless training camps and camps we have taken part in, and with the help of the knowledge gained during doctoral studies at UNEFS Bucharest, we set out to create projects that are unique in Romania.

The Tabere Straja team is made up of ski and snowboard instructors, physical-education teachers, nutritionists, psychologists, arts teachers, dancers, musicians, mountaineers, doctors and athletes of national and world renown.

The aims of the Ski School are the introduction, consolidation and refinement of the technical skills needed to practise alpine skiing safely.

The Straja mountain resort lies in the Vâlcan mountains, 8 km from the town of Lupeni, Hunedoara county.
In the summer season: hiking trails, adventure parks, visits to the Straja Hermitage, the Heroes' Cross, Baloo the bear, the sheepfold, and the Retezat guesthouse. In the winter season: the largest skiable terrain in Romania.

A wonderful ski camp! Our children, aged 5 and 7, had a great time and learned a huge amount. The instructors Ciprian and Mihai are true professionals, with a great deal of patience and dedication whatever the weather. An extraordinary experience – I wholeheartedly recommend Tabere Straja! I spent a week at the snowboard camp together with my 6-year-old child. The instructors are extremely well trained, patient and very attentive with the little ones, and the organisation was impeccable, with a well-structured programme and safety on the slopes. As parents, we felt at ease knowing they were in very good hands.
