At Straja, preparations for the 2026-2027 winter season are in full swing. Another winter of ski camps for preschoolers and school-age children is on its way, in a place where children can learn to ski, improve their technique and enjoy the mountains in a safe, warm and well-organized setting.
The winter camps are for both young children, from the age of 3, and school-age children aged 6 to 18. There are sessions during the school holidays, weekend packages, Christmas and New Year's Eve camps, and periods set aside for families who want to combine their children's skiing with a few relaxing days in the mountains.
The main host of the camps is the Dor de Munte Guesthouse, which this season offers new accommodation and facilities designed especially for the comfort of families and children. After their hours of skiing and activities on the slopes, participants can enjoy the Dor de Munte SPA area, with a pool, hot tub, sauna and massage services.
Another highlight of the experience is the new Dor de Munte restaurant: spacious, welcoming and built in chalet style, with the cozy feel of a French mountain lodge. It is the kind of place where meals are not just a break between activities but part of the charm of a winter camp: children sharing a table, stories from the slopes, the excitement after their first runs and that good energy you only feel at camp.
Ski lessons are run in collaboration with the Straja Ski and Snowboard School, with instructors who adapt their teaching to each child's age and level. For beginners, a major advantage is the Baloo Beginners' Slope, located right at the entrance to the resort, in the main Baloo area. Here children can take their first steps on skis in a space suited to learning, with a conveyor belt and instructors who help them build confidence step by step.
For children who have skied before, the camps are a good opportunity to consolidate and refine their skills. The goal is not just for a child to get down the slope, but to do it safely, with better technique, with control and with the joy of feeling their progress from one day to the next.
The camp program is built around skiing, but it doesn't stop at the slope. Children enjoy chalet activities, games, contests, themed evenings, parties, time to socialize and educational activities. At the end, the camp contest, the certificate, the medal and the group photos become part of the memories each child takes home.
For the 2026-2027 season, enrollment is open to both individual participants and families. We welcome children aged 3 to 8 in the preschool camps, students aged 6 to 18 in the ski camps for students, as well as parents who want to stay close to their children and enjoy a few winter days at Straja.
Sessions run across several periods, from the end of November until the beginning of March. There are camps of 4-5 nights, ski weekends and special Christmas and New Year's Eve packages, and prices vary depending on the dates, length of stay and type of accommodation chosen. Superior accommodation at Dor de Munte Spa is available for a supplement, subject to availability.
The winter camps at Straja are designed for children who are skiing for the first time, for those who want to grow more confident, and for families looking for a complete experience: good accommodation, meals, activities, instructors, a slope close by and a genuine mountain atmosphere.
Winter 2026-2027 promises to be a busy one at Straja. With the Baloo slope close by, the Straja Ski and Snowboard School, the new facilities at Dor de Munte and Tabere Straja's experience in organizing children's camps, this season is set to bring plenty of first runs, lots of smiles and memories that last long after the holiday is over.
